Conciliation between poles
When rivers fall into the ocean, fresh water and salt water merge and create a new ecosystem. The estuary is the conciliation between opposite means. In the same way, this project aims to reach conciliation in different scopes. It seeks to change the relationship between cancer patients and the way they perceive their disease.
In this context, conciliation begins when the preexisting buildings are articulated with the rest of the park through the fragmentation of volumes. A new meaning is given to the park by the juxtaposition of strips were different spaces are interconnected. The new activities enter into a dialog with the project and the Post Treatment rehabilitation building also located in the Bror Hansson Park. Limits between the park and the building become hazy as activities merge, conciliating the public and the private space.
The kitchen is the center of the project, a place that encourages people to gather and a where patients receive support as they give out to the community. The estuary is a habitat created from the way the community interacts, the inner harmony of the patients and the conciliation with the environment.
