OPEN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR STANDARD HOUSING AND RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT DESIGN
‘Park District’ is a housing project conceived upon the idea that the different scales of architecture: the city, the building and the house, must work individually and collectively towards the development and strengthening of social interactions within the neighborhood life.
We believe that a housing project goes beyond a simple array of living quarters, and must instead act as a meeting space for neighbors to share their lives with each other all throughout the different stages of life. We also believe that architecture must be flexible enough to accommodate the ever-present changes within families and communities. ‘Park District’ allows for these physical and formal mutations by working with small and versatile building units (at the city, building and house scale), that may be grouped in all sorts of ways.
